PSAT/SAT

PSAT®/SAT®

New PSAT/SAT Instruction

The new version of the PSAT was first administered in October 2023, with the new SAT debuting in March 2024. The test became digital and section-adaptive, which allowed the College Board to make the test overall about 45 minutes shorter than it had previously been without significantly changing the content tested. We constantly strive to create the most up-to-date preparation materials, and we redeveloped our ACT/SAT curriculum following the changes, and our industry-leading ACT/SAT textbook can be purchased on Amazon here.

We do not require any upfront financial commitment. There is no need to purchase a “plan” or “package”. You are simply billed for the time our instructors spend with your child. We provide all the materials. Located in the Denver-Metro Area? We will even come to your home. Located elsewhere? We have a cloud-based software program that makes online meetings a breeze.

Moser focuses on one-on-one instruction, so your child’s individual needs will be meet. We start by evaluating their strengths and weaknesses, which we use to customize a personalized, goal-oriented plan. Read more about our approach.

The SAT tests a student’s college-readiness across four sections and three domains: Evidence-Based Reading, Writing and Language, and Mathematics. The Mathematics domain is tested across two modules, which contain both multiple-choice and student-produced response questions. The Reading and Writing questions are combined across two modules and joined into a single score grade on a 200–800 point scale, while both Mathematics sections combine for another score on the same scale. These two scores, Reading-Writing and Mathematics, are combined for a composite score between 400–1600.

What You Need to Know

What

The SAT is a college entrance exam accepted by all American colleges and universities, as well as many foreign schools. It tests a student’s college-readiness across three domains: Evidence-Based Reading, Writing and Language, and Mathematics.

When

Most students take the SAT in the winter and spring of their junior year, though many may retake the exam the summer before or fall of senior year. The SAT is administered nationally 7 times a year: March, May, June, August, October, November, December. In additional, public school juniors in the state of Colorado (and many other states) take the SAT at school in April as part of mandatory state testing.
