Rates and Policies
Private Classes
All private classes must be scheduled with the instructor in advance. Under normal circumstances, one two-hour session per week should be scheduled, though classes from one hour to three hours are possible in certain cases. Because continuity is important to the development of testing skills, efforts should be made to create a regular schedule of weekly meetings. Meeting location should be arranged with instructor prior to the first session, and may be adjusted to meet student and instructor needs. The instructor will travel to meet the student at a location convenient to the student, including coffee shops, libraries, schools, and at home. If the student is under 18, a parent must be present for home meetings. The rate for high school and college test preparation and academic coaching is $135 per hour. The rate for Executive Skills Coaching is $165 per hour. Graduate School Entrance Exam instruction is $170 per hour. In-person sessions last a minimum of one hour. Supplementary time spent outside of session at a family’s request (speaking with school personnel, preparing documentation, consulting) is $80 per hour.
Group Classes
Group classes are uncommon, but may be arranged upon specific request from students or parents, at the discretion of the instructor. Group classes will not exceed four students, and will generally only be arranged for students with similar needs. The rate for group instruction is $95 per hour per student for groups of 2, $85 per hour per student for groups of three, and $75 per hour per student for groups of 4.
Learning Materials
All necessary learning materials will be provided by the instructor, included in our flat $40 materials fee (test preparation only). Students are expected to arrive for each class with a graphing calculator, pens or pencils, and all materials that have been supplied by the instructor. The instructor will work with each student and with parents to determine a suitable amount of work to be completed outside of class. It is expected that the assigned work will be completed each week and brought to each session.
Billing Policy
A bill will be sent at the beginning of each month for all classes during the previous month. Payment is due on receipt. Payments can be made online or by check to Moser Educational Services and mailed or given to the instructor. Invoices more than one month past due will incur a late fee of $20. Each month thereafter, an additional fee of $20 will accrue until the invoice is paid in full.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for all cancellations or changes to a scheduled class. While it is expected that students or parents will advise the instructor of any changes as soon as they arise, any cancellations or changes made with at least 24 hours notice will be made at no cost. Cancellations and changes made less than 24 hours before a scheduled class will be billed at the applicable standard rate. Exceptions to this policy will be made in the cases of inclement weather and family emergency. Classes cancelled for these reasons will not be billed as long as the class is cancelled at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the class. Instructors will make every reasonable effort to reschedule classes as needed, but there is no guarantee that all schedule change requests can be honored.
Disclaimer: Moser makes a point of going to extraordinary lengths to ensure the satisfaction of our clients. That said, there are a great many variables that lie beyond our control in producing academic and testing outcomes. Student engagement and effort, individual teacher grading policies, test day circumstances, and other factors have substantial impact on the scores and grades students receive. Thus, we can not guarantee a specific outcome for any student. We do, however, stay in very close contact with families throughout the process to ensure that everyone feels that the process is consistently beneficial.
